Made like a gun, fast like a bullet

I rode if for first time some 10 years ago, and I can still remember the smile that had left me ….

I was always thinking of getting one but I never got around it….

You never know maybe in the near future …

Lately it has been given to me as a replacement bike until my Himalayan is fixed ….

I’m referring to the bike that is “Made like a gun, fast like a bullet”

For the first part I have no doubts but for the later part, maybe in another era ….

Riding it in the city gives you smiles … it has style, nice sound, the weight doesn’t cause any problems and it has enough power and torque to follow traffic and minimize the gear shifts, it is very economical with good enough brakes and suspension…

You just have to let it tell you how it wants to be ridden…

If you try to abuse it, it will protest and show you that it doesn’t like it….

Still if you push it it will take it, not sure if the rider can…

Good in the city but what happens when you want to take a trip with it?

A journey that takes you to another dimension where there is no time…

The trip was planned a long time ago, but I never thought I would take a bullet to it….

I also saw the storm (corona virus) coming and I realized that I would be sitting home for a long time…

I told some friends if they would like to travel with me and Saturday morning we will be traveling in the cities and villages of Nafplio, Leonidio, Kosmas, Sparti and back to Athens ….

First stop was on the old and unused train station of Nemea …

Next stop was at the City of Nafplio

It was the first day of the lockdown and all the restaurants and coffee places were closed….

From now on only the Bullets και το Tenere would continue on the trip …

Next stop at the Moustou lake .

We keep going with some stops to take pictures and rest …

We reached the town of Leonidio the main square was empty…

We stopped at the outskirts of the town to have some lunch that we have brought with us ….

The town of Leonidio was beautiful, surely I will return and spent some time here….

We continued our ride towards the village of Kosmas

What a beautiful ride it was …

If someone has not ridden this road then for sure he should do it on his first chance …

We reached the village of Kosmas

The town was beautiful but empty …

We kept going without making a stop at the village

The old trail that was used to reach the village of Kosmas

The road ahead of us …

The distant trees from the previous picture close up …

A new bridge for a new road …

20km before the city of Sparta we stopped to top up in fuel

We passed the city of Sparta without stopping and we continued towards the city of Tripoli using the old road ….

Somewhere in the middle between Sparta and Tripoli we stopped to rest and have some coffee …

We took the motorway from Tripoli to Athens …..

We made a few stops at rest areas to have some coffee and rest…

The last stop was after the toll booths of Aspropyrgos where we greeted each other and left…

We made it home after a fool day of riding in slow motion …

I was expecting to get more tired because of the bullet but on the contrary I wasn’t feeling more tired that I would have felt with any other bike …

Riding the bullet was fun and I truly enjoyed it …

I let it choose the speed and it let me choose the destination …

I would love to travel all over the world with it….

Together we made a trip back in time …

Some of the pictures are taken by my co traveler Byron…
